Information for Students
What does Triangle offer me?
Triangle, like all fraternities, offers leadership development, training in financial responsibility, support, and friendship. In addition, Triangle offers the benefit of academic experience for its members. Triangle provides a tightly-knit group of friends to help you throughout your educational career. In addition, in Triangle Fraternity you will find:
- a home while you are in college shared with others whose ideals and interests are similar to you
- friendships to last a lifetime
- leadership opportunities through participation in chapter operations and leadership seminars
- opportunities to further develop social skills
- a network of alumni members, who may be of great value in your personal and professional life
What are the requirements to join Triangle?
You must be a male enrolled in the University and pursuing a degree within the majors of Engineer, Architecture, or Science.
I meet the requirements and I'm thinking about joining. How can I tell if Triangle is right for me?
The single best way to find out if Triangle is right for you is to come hang out with us, even if it is not a "Rush" event. We're more the happy to accommodate you at any time during the year.
I like Triangle. How can I join?
If you are interested in Triangle, stop by and meet the guys. After spending some time with some Triangles and getting to know us, ask about the bidding process and the bid card. From there we'll work with you to complete the entire process.
How expensive is Triangle?
In comparison to the the dorms, you will find Triangle to be about $1000-$1500 cheaper. Each Semester will cost $3050. The fee includes everything from meals, social events, intramurals, and member dues. Your only other outside expense will be if you chose to purchase any Triangle apparel and our semester Formals.
What are the advantages?
The advantages are countless. There are tangible, rock-solid benefits that we can put on paper and show you. However, there are also the intangible benefits that must be experienced. Those cannot be listed. I will list some of the more popular benefits of the chapter.
- Brotherhood...that last a lifetime
- Alumni.., Looking for a job, some help with your resume talk to our alumni
- Opportunity...to do things you have never done
- No Moving / Storage Hassles...store your stuff in our house during the summer/Christmas break
- Custom Rooms, we own the house so any modification within reason is acceptable
- A good study environment, we are all engineers, architects and scientists so we have been in the same classes and can help you
- Leadership, become a leader in the chapter, the community and with the national organization
What are the disadvantages?
Everything always has a few disadvantages, and Triangle is no exception.
- Required chores...This keeps our house tidy and builds brotherhood. It only takes 5-10 minutes every couple nights.
- Required meetings...They happen every Monday night after dinner. They allow us to communicate and resolve problems within the chapter.
What can I expect from the Chapter?
- A memorable college life.
- A common bond with every member nationwide. You will undergo the same rituals that all Triangles have done for over 100 years.
- A place to call home...forever.
What if I don't like it?
There are no strings attached. At the end of your pledge semester, you decide if you want to come back.
I have other questions, who should I ask?
Contact our Rush Chairmen, Martin Rangel or Collin Bowling for more information.
Best Regards,
The Active and Alumni Members of the Nebraska Chapter of Triangle Fraternity
